WAYS TO GIVE
 When you make a financial investment in Miami-Dade AHEC, you contribute to the future health and well being of all of South Florida. Overall contributions are judiciously spent, with the majority of these funds being directly applied to the enrichment of the organization’s programs. Our total annual budget demonstrates that approximately 85% of all monetary contributions are directly applied to the enrichment of our programs and services. Gifts of Cash
The most common way to support Miami-Dade AHEC is through gifts of cash. Gifts of cash are tax deductible in the year received and include cash, check, money orders or credit card. You will receive a tax receipt for the full amount of the gift donated.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Your gift can be significantly increased if your employer matches your charitable donation. Please contact your Human Resources department to find out whether your company participates in a “matching gifts” program. If your company does have a matching gifts program, they will give you the forms needed to designate Miami-Dade AHEC as your chosen charity. Your company will then notify Miami-Dade AHEC of your donation request and forward the necessary documents to us so that we may verify our non-profit status. We will complete the process and notify you of the matching gift from the company in your name.
Sponsorships
If you or your company is interested in broadening your exposure by getting involved in the community through sponsoring a Miami-Dade AHEC program, event or service, we would be happy to customize a sponsorship packages that will meet the prospective sponsor’s goals. All sponsors will be added to our Sponsor List. Please contact our Development Coordinator for more information.
Special Events and Fundraising
Miami-Dade AHEC is regularly in the community hosting fundraising events, conferences, workshops and other community programs. Please see our Calendar for the complete list of our upcoming events. Many of our events need an extra pair of helping hands and sponsorship support to help them run successfully. Please contact our Development Coordinator to find out how you can participate in our next event.
Private, Corporate, and Foundation Grants
Through referrals, personal contacts and corporate recommendations, Miami-Dade AHEC seeks funding from private and corporate foundations to offset the annual decreases in State and Federal funding. If you are aware of a foundation with an emphasis on health, health education or health services, please forward the appropriate contact information to our Development Coordinator.
Gifts In-Kind
Gifts of equipment, services, labor, etc. are welcomed by Miami-Dade AHEC. Upon acceptance of your gift you will receive a tax receipt acknowledging the gift. Please be aware, however, that IRS regulations prohibit charitable organizations from assigning a monetary value to in-kind donations. Often times, such gifts must be appraised by an outside expert.
Gifts of Time
Gifts of time, talent and expertise are always welcome. Miami-Dade AHEC understands that we can’t fix the health care crisis over night. That is why Volunteers and Interns are an integral part of our organization and involved in everything we do. If you are able to contribute your time in another unique way that would benefit Miami-Dade AHEC, please contact our Development Coordinator.
Planned Giving
Through planned giving you are able to remember Miami-Dade AHEC in your will or other estate planning documents. After providing for your loved ones, you can specify a designated dollar amount of your estate or even a specific asset such as securities, life insurance, works of art etc. You can even name Miami-Dade AHEC as a contingent beneficiary so that we would receive the asset(s) only if the primary beneficiary did not survive you. After your lifetime, the asset(s) you specify would then be distributed to Miami-Dade AHEC and your estate would be able to take a charitable deduction for the full amount of the bequest.
